Intestinal villi

A block of small-intestine wall: villi with their epithelium, goblet cells and lamina propria, the intestinal glands between them with Paneth cells, the muscularis mucosae and the submucosa. One villus shows its lacteal, capillary net and smooth muscle. Enlarged for study: a real villus is about 0.5–1 mm tall.
