Aortic disease

A segment of the aorta three times, opened lengthways: normal, with elastic lamellae in its media; with an abdominal aortic aneurysm, its media thinned and its sac lined with laminated thrombus; and with a dissection, blood splitting the media into a false lumen behind an intimal flap.
